Terms of Service
Effective September 16, 2026
1. Who We Are
Revamped Outdoors Co. LLC ("we," "us," "our") is a limited liability company based in South Carolina. You can reach us at information@revampedoutdoorsco.com.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of revampedoutdoorsco.com and any related apps (together, the "Service"), including the Gear Calculator, Trail Notes, the camping and packing tools, the Training Log and live session tracking, Trail Weather, Trails Nearby, Maps and offline maps, Track Back, turn-by-turn navigation, Trip Safety, the Field Skills library, reminders, and any paid features like the Compass Club. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
2. Who Can Use the Service
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or subscribe to the Compass Club. If you're under 18, please don't create an account.
An adult may enter information about a minor — for example, adding their child to a trip party or a Find Me page. If you do that, you're responsible for that information and for the rules in Section 10.
3. Your Account
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account.
Give us accurate information when you sign up, and keep your name and email up to date if they change.
One account per person. Don't share your login with others.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or create risk for other users.
4. The Free Service
Trail Notes and the Gear Calculator are free to use, and we intend to keep them that way. We may add, change, or remove free features at any time, though we'll try not to do so in ways that pull the rug out from under people relying on them.
5. The Compass Club (Paid Subscription)
The Compass Club is a subscription billed at the price shown at checkout for your region. On the web it's processed securely through Stripe; in the iOS app through Apple's App Store, and on Android through Google Play (with subscription status managed via RevenueCat). We never see or store your card details.
Automatic renewal. A Compass Club subscription renews automatically at the price and interval you chose — monthly or yearly — until you cancel it. Payment is charged to your Apple ID, Google Play account, or payment card at confirmation of purchase, and again within 24 hours before the end of each period. To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before the current one ends. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for; you keep Compass Club access until then.
How to cancel. For App Store subscriptions, use your Apple ID settings; for Google Play, your Google Play account; for web subscriptions, the "Manage Subscription" page in your account. We can't cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription on your behalf — only the store can.
Refunds: subscription charges are generally final and non-refundable. Cancelling stops future billing, but the current period you've already paid for isn't refunded. Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are subject to Apple's or Google's refund policies, which they administer and which may be more generous than this section. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable statutory refund, cancellation, or withdrawal right you have under the law of your country or state of residence — including, for consumers in the UK and EU, the statutory right to withdraw from a purchase of digital content.
We may change the price of the Compass Club going forward. If we do, we'll give you reasonable notice before it applies to your next billing cycle, and where the store or the law requires your consent to a price increase, your subscription won't renew at the new price until you give it.
Smart Add uses AI to estimate gear weights from photos or product links. AI-suggested names and weights can be wrong. Always review and confirm the details before saving them — especially for gear where an inaccurate weight could affect your safety planning (e.g., water capacity, shelter, or emergency gear).
Training and fitness features carry physical risk. The Training Log and its AI-generated training plans are general fitness suggestions provided for informational purposes only. They are not medical, physical-therapy, or professional fitness advice, and are not tailored to your individual health. Hiking, rucking, cardio, and strength training involve inherent risks, including serious injury. Consult a physician before beginning any training program, stop if you feel pain or distress, and use your own judgment. By using these features you accept these risks and agree that Revamped Outdoors Co. LLC and its members are not responsible for any injury, health condition, or loss that results from them.
Live session tracking is an estimate. The live GPS tracker estimates distance, time, and pace and depends on your device's GPS signal and battery; readings can be inaccurate or interrupted, and background tracking increases battery use. Don't rely on it for navigation, emergencies, or any safety-critical purpose.
6. Maps, Navigation, and Safety
Maps, routes, and directions are aids, not a guarantee. Trail Weather, Trails Nearby, Maps, offline maps, Track Back, and turn-by-turn navigation rely on your device's GPS and on free public data (see Section 13) that can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Trails may be mismapped or missing, routes may follow unsafe or impassable paths, map tiles may not have downloaded, and GPS can drift or fail under tree cover, in canyons, or in bad weather. These features are convenience aids only.
Do not rely on the Service for navigation or emergencies. Always carry and know how to use a physical map and compass and check current, official conditions before you go. Track Back and turn-by-turn navigation are not a substitute for proper wilderness navigation skills, and the Service is not an emergency or personal-safety device. In an emergency, contact local authorities or emergency services directly.
Trip Safety and overdue alerts are not a monitoring or rescue service. Trip Plans, check-ins, Find Me pages, and the automated "overdue" email to your emergency contact are conveniences that depend on scheduled jobs, third-party email delivery, a correct contact address, and your own device's connectivity. Any of them can be delayed, fail to send, or not send at all. Nobody at Revamped Outdoors Co. monitors your trip, and no alert we send summons help. Never rely on these features as your only plan — leave your itinerary with a person who will act on it, and carry a dedicated emergency communication device if your trip warrants one.
Outdoor activities are inherently risky. Hiking, camping, and backcountry travel involve serious risks, including injury or death. You are solely responsible for your own decisions and safety, for evaluating conditions and your own abilities, and for the safety of anyone in your party. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you assume these risks and agree that Revamped Outdoors Co. LLC and its members are not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your use of the Service outdoors.
7. Health, Medication, and Hydration Reminders
These features are organizational tools, not medical care. The medication, hydration, and health reminder features let you record what you want to remember and ask your device to remind you. They are for general informational and organizational purposes only. They are not medical advice, not a diagnosis, not a treatment recommendation, and not a medical device. We don't check what you enter for accuracy, safety, interactions, or appropriate dosing, and nothing in the Service should be used to make a medical decision. Talk to a physician, pharmacist, or veterinarian about anything involving medication — for yourself, another person, or an animal.
Reminders can fail, and you must not depend on them. Reminders are scheduled on your device and delivered by your operating system. They can be delayed, silenced, suppressed by battery-saving or Do Not Disturb settings, lost when notification permission is off, cleared when the app is uninstalled or its data is cleared, or simply not delivered. A missed or duplicated reminder is a foreseeable outcome, not a defect. Never use the Service as your only method of tracking medication, and never treat the absence of a reminder as confirmation that a dose isn't due or that one was already taken.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Revamped Outdoors Co. LLC and its members are not responsible for any missed, late, duplicated, or incorrect dose, or for any health outcome arising from your use of these features.
8. Trail Notes and Site Content
Blog posts, guides, and other content we publish are for general informational purposes only and aren't a substitute for professional outdoor training, medical advice, or your own judgment on the trail. Trail conditions and gear recommendations can change; always verify current conditions before you go.
9. Acceptable Use
Don't use the Service to: harass, threaten, or endanger other users; post false or misleading information; attempt to access other users' accounts or data; interfere with or disrupt the Service (including attempting to bypass Compass Club subscription checks); or use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. Content you submit — including blog comments and any shared bags or hikes — must not be harassing, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable. You can report content using the Report action, and block a user, from within the app; we review every report and will remove violating content and may suspend or remove the responsible user, typically within 24 hours. Agreeing to these terms is a condition of accessing user-generated content, and continued misuse may result in removal from the Service. You can reach us using the contact details in Section 22.
10. Information About Other People
Some features ask for details about people other than you — trip party members, emergency contacts, people on a Find Me page, saved hiking companions, or people on a shared camping board. This can include names, phone numbers, email addresses, photos, allergies and dietary needs, and notes you write about them.
You need their permission. By entering someone else's information you confirm that you have their permission to provide it, that you've told them it's stored in this Service and what it's used for, and that you have the authority to do so — including for a child in your care. Only enter what the feature actually needs, and think carefully before writing sensitive notes (such as medical details) about another person.
We will contact your emergency contacts. If you set an emergency contact on a Trip Plan and the trip becomes overdue, we send that person an automated email containing your name, your destination, notes from your plan, and a link to your trip. Compass Club members can add up to four more contacts, and every one of them is emailed the same way. Make sure they each know to expect it, and that every address you give is correct and theirs.
A camping board link is the permission. If you open a camping trip's board and share the link, anyone who has that link can see everything on it — every person's name, what they are bringing, and any allergies or dietary needs they entered. Share it only with the people on the trip, and tell anyone you invite that what they type is visible to everyone else with the link.
You're responsible for the information you enter about other people. If someone asks us to remove information you entered about them, we may remove it without notice to you.
11. Intellectual Property
The Revamped Outdoors Co. name, logo, and site content are owned by us unless otherwise noted. You may not use our branding without permission. You retain ownership of anything you submit, but you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display it as part of operating and promoting the Service.
Content you choose to make public. Some features publish what you submit: sharing your bag, sharing a Trip Plan link, commenting on Trail Notes, and publishing a trail you recorded. A published trail includes the recorded route itself — that is, a map of where you walked. Anyone with the link, and in some cases anyone at all, can see it. Think about whether a route reveals something you'd rather keep private, such as where you live or camp, before you publish it. You can remove published content, but we can't recall copies others have already saved or shared.
12. Copyright Complaints
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a written notice to information@revampedoutdoorsco.com with: your contact details; identification of the work you say is infringed; identification of the material you want removed and where to find it; a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you're authorized to act for the copyright owner; and your physical or electronic signature.
We remove or disable material that is the subject of a valid notice, and we terminate the accounts of repeat infringers. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice to the same address.
13. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party providers to operate the Service, including Stripe, Apple's App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat (payments and subscription status), Supabase (accounts, database, and storage), Anthropic's API (AI features), Jina AI (fetching the content of product links you paste), Resend (sending email, including newsletters and overdue-trip alerts), Expo (push notification delivery and over-the-air app updates), Sentry (crash and error reporting), PostHog (product analytics), and Cloudflare (website hosting and content delivery). Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' own terms where applicable.
The map, weather, and trail features rely on free, public data services we don't operate or control: the U.S. National Weather Service (forecasts and alerts), OpenStreetMap and its Nominatim and Overpass services (search and trail data), the U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service, and Bureau of Land Management (public-land trail data), USGS's The National Map, OpenStreetMap, and OpenTopoMap (map tiles), a public OpenStreetMap-based routing service (FOSSGIS Valhalla, for directions), and sunrise-sunset.org (daylight times). These are community- and government-provided and may be unavailable, rate-limited, or inaccurate at any time; their data is © their respective contributors and subject to their terms and licenses.
Some Trail Notes posts embed videos hosted by YouTube. Playing an embedded video is subject to Google's terms and privacy policy.
14. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that gear weight estimates, trail information, maps, routes and directions, weather forecasts, AI-generated training plans, GPS distances, or any other content is accurate, complete, current, or available. You're responsible for verifying anything safety-critical before you rely on it.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Revamped Outdoors Co. LLC and its members won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or $50 if you haven't paid us anything).
Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or damages, so parts of Sections 14 and 15 may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't lawfully be excluded.
16. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account anytime, using "Delete My Account" on your Profile. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription — cancel that through the store, as described in Section 5.
17. Affiliate Links
Some links to outdoor gear in the Service are affiliate links. If you buy something through one, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. We also participate in affiliate programs operated by Impact (impact.com) and AvantLink; some links pass through those networks before reaching the retailer.
Affiliate links never change what the Service recommends. Gear suggestions come from your own kit, your trip, and your pack weight — not from what pays us. We are not responsible for the products, prices, availability, or policies of any retailer we link to; your purchase is between you and that retailer.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll post the updated version here with a new effective date. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in South Carolina. If you're a consumer resident in a country whose law gives you the right to bring proceedings locally or to the protection of your own country's mandatory consumer laws, this section doesn't take that away.
20. General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect and that part is limited to the minimum extent necessary. Our not enforcing a provision isn't a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We're not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
21. Apple App Store — Additional Terms
This section applies only to the iOS app downloaded from Apple's App Store, and controls over anything inconsistent with it elsewhere in these Terms.
This agreement is with us, not Apple. These Terms are between you and Revamped Outdoors Co. LLC only — not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
Scope of licence. We grant you a non-transferable licence to use the app on any Apple-branded device you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that it may be accessed by other accounts via Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
Maintenance and support. We're solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the app. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish maintenance or support services for it.
Warranty. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no warranty obligation for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price you paid for it (if any); beyond that, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility.
Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
Intellectual property claims. If a third party claims the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of that claim.
Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Developer contact. Revamped Outdoors Co. LLC, South Carolina, United States. For questions or complaints about the app, contact information@revampedoutdoorsco.com.
Third-party terms. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the app — see Section 13.
Apple as third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of them Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
